George Foreman was born in Marshall, Texas. 22nd January 1948. Foreman’s favourite saying was “I am the best in the world at knocking people down.” His ring record seems to back that up. He was given a title shot at Frazier in 1973, and had him down 5 times before he knocked him out in 95 seconds of the second round. In 1974 Foreman defended against Ali in Zaire. Ali psyched Foreman out of the fight leaving Foreman exhausted with his rope-a-dope tactics. In 1977 Foreman retired to become a preacher. For 10 years he pounded the bible, and then returned to pound his opponents. In April 1991 he fought Holyfield for the world Heavyweight championship after a tremendous battle. In November 1994 Foreman pulled off the unthinkable: At the age of 45, he knocked out Michael Moorer in the tenth round in Las Vegas to regain the WBA and IBF versions of the world championship.
