In his first return to the ring since his last visit to the joint, Tyson was involved in yet another bizarre ending to a Vegas fight. The ex-two-time heavyweight champion tagged Orlin Norris with a left hook to the jaw after the bell to end the first round. The shot deposited Norris flat on his back in the center of the ring and as the former cruiser king was falling he twisted his right knee.
Norris managed to make it to his feet and return to his corner without limping but shortly thereafter claimed he had injured the knee when he fell to the canvas. After a brief examination by Dr. Flip Homansky, the fight was stopped and ruled a "no-contest" due to an accidental foul. Oddly, referee Richard Steele had just moments earlier deducted two-points from Tyson for what was determined to be a deliberate foul.
