Cornelius Boza Edwards (born May 27, 1956 in Kampala, Uganda) former World junior lightweight champion. Edwards emigrated from Uganda to England, where he lived for a long period of time. Currently, he lives in the United States, where he trains other boxers. Cornelius Boza-Edwards won the WBC World junior lightweight title from Rafael Limon with a fifteen round decision in 1981 at Stockton, California, this after Limon, a Mexican, had made his infamous, “you know what happens to British boxers when they face Mexicans” comment, in a reference to the fight between Lupe Pintor and Johnny Owen, after which Owen lost his life.

Boza-Edwards knocked out Bobby Chacon in thirteen rounds in his first defence, but then, he lost the title to Rolando Navarrete, by knockout in round five. Boza-Edwards also fought to, and lost against, other World champions such as Alexis Arguello by knockout in eight, Hector Camacho by decision in twelve, Rocky Lockridge, by decision in ten and Jose Luis Ramirez by knockout in five.

Boza Edwards represented Uganda as a Featherweight at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. He did not participate in an actual match, as Uganda and several other African countries withdrew their teams after the start of the game after New Zealand was not banned due to controversy stemming from the New Zealand rugby team All Blacks making an appearance in apartheid South Africa. Boza Edwards had a first round bye, and was a walk-over loser to eventual bronze medallist Leszek Kosedowski of Poland.
