Jorrin W majority decision

Michael Brodie's world title dreams ended in tears as he lost out to America's Willie Jorrin on a controversial majority decision for the WBC super-bantamweight crown.
The decision caused consternation in Brodie's camp, with promoter Barry Hearn calling for a re-match.
After 12 hard-fought rounds, the man from Sacramento emerged victorious by scores of 115-112 and 116-112 with two of the judges while the third had it tied at 114-114.
The decision was greeted with dismay and disbelief by Brodie's home crowd at Bowlers Leisure Centre in Trafford Park - and disgust by the 25-year-old's camp.
Brodie defiantly declared: "I know I'm the champion, everyone knows who the champion is. It doesn't matter who has the belt - I know I'm the champion."
As promoter Barry Hearn went even further, claiming: "That was one of the worst decisions ever seen in a British ring.
"If the WBC don't order an immediate re-match the British Boxing Board should not recognise that organisation ever again."

Michael Brodie (born 10 May 1974, Manchester, England). He fought at Featherweight and super-bantamweight.

Brodie boxed as an amateur before turning professional in October 1994, winning his first fight in Manchester, in which Brodie beat Warley Super Bantamweight Graham McGrath with a knockout in the fifth round on a card that included fellow Mancunian's Wahid Fats, Carl Smith and Carl Harney.

Brodie won his first title belt, the vacant British super bantamweight title, in March 1997 with a ten round knockout win over Neil Swain at the Wythenshawe Forum in Manchester. The following year Brodie won the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight Title with a win over Brian Carr and later that year Brodie added the European (EBU) Super Bantamweight Title.

Brodie's first opportunity to fight for a world title belt came in September 2000 after Mexican Erik Morales vacated his WBC Super bantamweight title. However, Brodie suffered the first defeat on his career when Willie Jorrin beat Brodie on points to take the title.

In May 2002, Brodie won the WBF Featherweight Title and added the IBO Featherweight Title in 2003.
