The fight became known as "The Rope-a-Dope" Ali's game plan of lying on the ropes and allowing the brutal punching Foreman to hammer away at him appeared suicidal. Finally in the 8th round, after surviving a final fling from the exhausted Foreman, Ali cut loose with lefts and rights and a chopping right hand completed the execution. At the age of 32 Ali became only the 2nd heavyweight in history to regain the world title.
